Iron County, Utah Assessor's Office
Since late 2023, Iron County has partnered with FinBee TAC to modernize how county departments collect, review, measure, and apply high-resolution aerial data.
Across the 2024, 2025, and 2026 collection years, FinBee TAC has mapped approximately 325,000 acres throughout Iron County using advanced unmanned aircraft systems, high-resolution oblique imagery, 3D mesh technology, topographic mapping, elevation models, and survey-grade aerial datasets.
For the Iron County Assessor’s Office, this program has changed how property review and assessment work can be performed. Instead of relying only on field visits, outdated imagery, or limited third-party data access, assessor staff can now review properties directly from their desk using highly detailed, measurable imagery. Structures, site improvements, land use changes, access conditions, terrain, and property characteristics can be evaluated more efficiently through an integrated visual platform.
FinBee TAC’s accuracy and data quality have helped bring field-level insight into the office. With measurable imagery, oblique views, 3D models, and GIS-ready deliverables, county staff can make faster and more informed decisions without needing to physically visit every site. This allows the assessor’s office to prioritize fieldwork, verify property changes, support valuation workflows, and improve consistency across the assessment process.
The program also includes AI-assisted change tracking and visual analysis tools that help identify potential changes over time. New construction, additions, land disturbance, site improvements, and other visible changes can be reviewed against previous collections, giving the county a more efficient way to monitor growth and development. Instead of manually searching through large areas, staff can use change detection workflows to focus attention where updates are most likely needed.
A major benefit of the Iron County program is ownership. The county receives owned deliverables that create long-term value beyond a temporary imagery subscription. These datasets can be retained, reused, compared over multiple years, integrated into county GIS systems, and shared across departments as needs evolve.
FinBee TAC has also helped make the data practical and usable through hosted access, measurement tools, GIS-ready outputs, and department-focused integration. Assessor, GIS, emergency management, planning, zoning, infrastructure, and other county staff can work from the same authoritative visual dataset instead of relying on disconnected systems.
Beyond assessment, the Iron County dataset supports flood awareness, emergency management planning, terrain review, development tracking, infrastructure evaluation, elevation analysis, and long-term change monitoring. The project demonstrates how county-owned aerial intelligence, accurate mapping, AI-assisted change tracking, and practical integration can transform how local governments manage property, growth, and public services.
