A major advantage of FinBee TAC’s platform is the ability to deliver detailed 3D data and measurable visual models. Using advanced unmanned aircraft systems, high-resolution imagery, and 3D mesh processing, FinBee TAC can create accurate digital representations of structures, terrain, pads, roads, stockpiles, and visible site improvements. This gives assessor staff the ability to review and measure many features directly from their desktop instead of relying solely on field visits.
For assessment workflows, this is especially valuable. The 3D mesh and imagery tools allow structures and improvements to be measured with a high degree of reliability, with structure measurements typically within approximately 5 square feet or less when collected under proper project conditions. This allows the Assessor’s Office to review building footprints, visible additions, site improvements, height-related features, graded areas, and other measurable changes with confidence.
This level of accuracy can change how assessor staff work. Instead of sending field crews to verify every visible change, staff can first review the project area remotely, measure structures, compare current conditions to previous collections, and prioritize fieldwork only where it is truly needed. Humboldt County is not simply paying for temporary access to imagery that may disappear when a subscription ends. These datasets can be retained, reused, compared year after year, integrated into county GIS systems, and shared internally as county needs evolve.
Although the primary purpose of this program is to support the Humboldt County Assessor’s Office, owned deliverables may also create value for other county departments.
